Tracker Episode 6 Recap: Colter Team With His Nemesis To Track Missing Racehorse

CBS’s Tracker Episode 6, titled ‘Lexington’, follows Colter Shaw along with a fellow bounty hunter, Billie Malaton, who discovers a racehorse named ‘Argo’ has been stolen just before the competition.

Tracker Episode 6 begins with meeting the owner of the horse, Hugo Lazlo. As they converse, it becomes apparent that the Kentucky Derby Qualifier is just three days away, and he urgently requires the horse, as it is one of the best horses they have. Consequently, he discloses that they are offering a $250,000 reward to whoever locates the horse.

Hugo adds that they have also reported to the police that animals are not the priority. Colter also discovers that the ‘Argo’ is owned by four people, but he is assigned with horse daily maintenance. Colter quickly senses some suspicions as he mentions that he is recently separated from his wife, Tina, who is one of the co-owners of the horse. Hugo explains to Colter that Tina is currently with Redford James, who also owns a horse in the game, and suspects that they might have stolen ‘Argo’ since he has better chances of winning if Argo doesn’t race.

Run In With The Nemesis:

As Colter departs from Hugo’s office, he encounters Billie Matalon (portrayed by Sofia Pernas), a fellow bounty hunter who has collaborated with Colter before but once took the entire reward rather than sharing it with him at the last minute. She inquires about the Argo case but asserts her belief that Redford is not involved in the theft. However, Colter appears hesitant to trust her due to her past betrayal. Now, she is vying with Colter for the prize money.

As Colter reaches his RV, he phones Teddi and Velma regarding Billie, but they are unaware that this was not an exclusive hire. However, Colter assures them it’s fine; he will still proceed with the case. Then he requests them to gather information about Redford James, to which they inform him that James is hosting a Gala party with a black tie dress code.

It is decided that Colter will attend this Gala and find out more about the stolen house. As Colter attends the gala, he meets Tina and Redford. They both claim they have nothing to do with Argo’s stealing. As they talk, they are joined by the other two owners of Argo, Stuart Tyler and Kenji Tomine.

Colter finds out that his competitor Billie is also at the gala. However, Colter ignores that and goes around to search for any clues to find his next lead. As Colter gets into Redford’s office, he finds that Billie is already there. So, they both start to find the clues there as Billie breaks a safe to find out nothing about Argo. But Colter finds some receipts indicating that Redford has bet some money on Argo. So, he couldn’t have stolen Argo, as he would have lost the money.

Will Colter Join Hands With Billie?

With nothing to prove anything on Redford, they both talk at the bar. Then Billie suggests that they could collaborate as the price is significant enough for them to share. However, Colter recalls a job they undertook together five years ago, during which she betrayed him. Nonetheless, she also mentions that there are only a couple of days until the competition. This will be their best chance to locate Argo.

The following day, Colter discusses Billie’s proposal to collaborate with Teddi and Velma. However, both immediately express doubts, citing the previous unsuccessful outcome. Despite intending to decline the partnership at Billie’s hotel, Colter ultimately agrees to work with her.

Now Billie and Colter together begin to investigate Hugo’s property in order to uncover some clues as to how someone managed to steal the house despite its tight security and in just 3 minutes.

As they inspect the area, they discover a section of the fence that has been recently repaired and find out that Argo wasn’t placed in the trailer but was ridden off the property, as it would be a much easier and faster method. However, this also implies that only an insider could have carried out the task in this manner.

Who Could Possibly Stole ‘Argo’?

As they inquire about who can ride Argo, they discover that only three people have ridden Argo: one is Tina, who was with Hugo at the time. Besides her, a jockey is in Florida, and the last is a former trainer named Dan Flynn.

Colter consults Bobby (his computer expert), to gather additional information about Dan Flynn. Bobby discloses that Dan was terminated from his employment due to issues related to alcohol consumption. He supplies them with an address derived from Dan’s phone records. Upon arriving at the address, they discover that Dan has been shot. Colter and Billie formulate a hypothesis regarding who may have committed the act, reasoning that since Dan was contracted by another party, the individual who hired him to pilfer Argo likely perpetrated the shooting.

As Colter searches the parameters, he finds a syringe with a horse tranquilizer, which can only be administered by a vet. Colter and Billie both split up to find Argo quickly. Billie goes to Argo’s veterinarian, and Colter goes to Hugo to inquire about Dan.

Colter informs Hugo about Dan’s demise while inquiring about the reason for his dismissal. Hugo mentions that Dan struggles with alcohol and is in need of money, so he assists him by lending some. He reveals receiving an anonymous tip regarding Argo’s whereabouts. Colter expresses his intention to investigate further.

Meanwhile, Billie encounters Argo’s veterinarian, who remains tight-lipped, but Billie astutely dismisses him and proceeds to delve into Argo’s records. She uncovers some startling revelations: Argo has sustained numerous injuries, and the Trainer administered performance-enhancing substances to secure victories in races.

Colter & Billie Gets Into A Trap:

Billie joins Colter and shares information that they both found, then they both drive to the location which someone has given to Hugo. As they arrive, they find nothing and become trapped when they are locked into a barn, where someone starts a fire. Fortunately, they both survive.

As they emerge from the dangerous situation, they disclose that one of the proprietors is implicated in the theft of the Argo. Colter suggests that Hugo and Tina might be innocent, implicating the remaining two owners. In the midst of this, Colter receives a call from Bobby, reporting that he has uncovered a money trail linking the Argo’s veterinarian to its owner, Stuart Tyler. They both proceed to Stuart’s location.

At the location, they find Argo injured in the left leg, as Colter reaches Argo. He discovers that Stuart is holding Billie at gunpoint. However, both Colter and Billie, utilizing their combined strength, disarm Stuart and rescue Argo.

Colter discusses Argo’s health with Hugo and Tina, mentioning that Argo may never be able to participate in horse races. After leaving, Colter receives a call from Billie informing him that their reward money has been put on hold because the FBI has frozen Stuart’s account. Colter invites Billie to dinner, but she declines, citing the need to travel for her next job. There appears to be potential for a future between Colter and Billie, as they are both truly equal.
